Carrick Injury Woe

Carrick sustained an ankle injury during the first half of the 2-1 defeat against Liverpool on Saturday and manager Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that the England international midfielder is unlikely to have recovered in time for the game against the Spaniards at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.

"It's not serious," Fergie told MUTV.

"We've had an X-ray and nothing is broken.

"There was a hard tackle on him and we'll probably have a better assessment over the weekend.

"I don't think he'll be ready for Wednesday."
