CARING CITY LOOK AFTER THEIR FANS
As if the courting of the pink pound and the staging of regular comedy nights at Eastlands (seriously) didn't provide enough material to take the piss out of Blues, they follow it up with this from the MEN:
Manchester City is helping local residents who are suffering from depression and anxiety. A new weekly self-help group has been set up at the football club's City of Manchester Stadium in Eastlands.
City have given their support to the North Manchester Depression Group, launched earlier this month as part of the club's City in the Community (CITC) project, which promotes social inclusion.
The group offers long-term support to people living with depression or anxiety and, thanks to the Blues' support, will now meet every Thursday between 2-4pm in Box 36 at City's ground.
CITC's director of community affairs, Alex Williams MBE, said:
“Manchester City are delighted to support this group as we recognise that depression and anxiety are problems that affect many people.
“Yet so often sufferers of these conditions are left to cope alone.
“In supporting this vital initiative, we hope that sufferers will be able to meet up with others, share coping strategies and ultimately develop coping strategies that will promote recovery.”
