Can Manchester United afford Jose Mourinhos controversy

Speculation is rife that Jose Mourinho will be the next Manchester United manager, with most Red Devils' fans in favour of the move

Nobody seems to remember what they did not really like about Jose Mourinho from before, especially his exceptionally controversial side and yet that may the most important factor in deciding whether such an appointment should be made.

Manchester United have always been known in the very least as a grouping of gentlemen displaying a largely superior standard of conduct, an even higher level of propriety and chivalry only with the exception of a very few individuals like Eric Cantona

Fair play has always been the order of the day, not so much as a malicious tackle takes place at Old Trafford even when the team are very near rock bottom

You would never hear any moaning, conspiracy theories or unnecessary jibes at rival managers or match officials

That is the Manchester United way as it has always been but surely the self-proclaimed Special One cannot conform to such, it is simply not his nature.

This season alone, he has racked up more suspensions and fines than would managers would finish a career with

He inexplicably called the official team doctor naive and subsequently dismissed her for tending to an injured player

Match Officials were also open to attack as according to Jose, "they are afraid to give Chelsea decisions." At his lowest he just about called his players useless and took all the credit for an amazing title winning season.

There is no doubt Mourinho is a great manager and would probably take Manchester United forward but is his less attractive side not just about too much for Manchester United?
