"We have some hopes but there are several difficulties with bringing in players
nowadays. First of all it's money, some players are over priced. When you see £48 million spent on one player, as Real Madrid did with Zidane last season, you know you're in a game where it becomes very difficult to get the very best players unless you go to that level.
"Salaries, agents, the fee - all these things come into the equation when you are looking to bring in new players but we are looking at a few things.
Over the years people have sometimes seemed surprised with certain decisions I've made over players, but I always do what I hope is best for the team," he told the club's official magazine.
