'Landlord of the Chestergate Tavern Stuart Normansell believes the boycott will help pressure two of United’s main sponsors into supporting the ‘Not for Sale’ campaign.
And Stuart who is a member of the supporters groups IMUSA and Shareholders United, claims the response from customers has been supportive, regardless of their allegiance.
Stuart said: "The customers have been really good, they are totally supportive to what we are trying to achieve. No one has pulled a face or walked out, no matter who they support.
"People have asked us why we are doing it so it has also given us an opportunity to explain the effects this takeover will have."
He added: "Liverpool fans, City fans and County fans all understand what we are doing. They have even been contacting the fans website to offer support."
