BOSNICH GETS THE SACK
After the high there is always a low and that's probably what Mark Bosnich will be feeling after leaving United and ending up with no job and a sore nose.
This from the Guardian on Chelsea's sacking of Mark Bosnich.
Bosnich has already been suspended indefinitely by the club and was today given 14 days' formal notice in writing that his contract "is being terminated".
The ex-Manchester United and Aston Villa goalkeeper is understood to have received legal advice that Chelsea could be acting improperly, although the club continue to insist that he has breached the terms of his contract.
The troubled custodian was called to a meeting with executives at Stamford Bridge shortly after Christmas but chose not to attend on medical advice.
Bosnich, who may or may not choose to celebrate his 31st birthday next Monday, is also dotting the I's and crossing the T's to his formal response to the FA misconduct charge which followed his positive drugs test.
He has been given until this Friday to submit a written reply and will do so, with reports having indicated that he intends to contest the charge at a hearing.
Chelsea tonight issued a statement which read: "Chelsea Football Club can confirm that notice has been served on goalkeeper Mark Bosnich that his contract is being terminated under the terms of the FA Premier League. "We will be saying nothing else on the matter during this notice period."
