BITTER SCOUSE RESERVE

The Observer reports that the Scouse reserve has no sympathy
for Pavel Nedved. His one contribution to the semi-final
second leg was an exaggerated reaction to a foul by Nedved
which led to the Czech’s booking and suspension from the
final. However Macca doesn’t feel bad about it:

“I don't because he smashed me on my leg and I nearly broke
my ankle. He didn't have to do what he did. I was in the
centre spot and they had 50 men in defence like they
normally do. He's his own worst enemy. He scored a great
goal and now he won't play in the final. Saying that, you
don't wish that on anyone. I'm being bitter, aren't I"

And his prediction for the final?

“The teams involved have world-class players. Hopefully it
will be a very good game and spectacle... but I doubt it.”

What was that about being bitter?
