* Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reported to be stepping up his role.

The Mail on Sunday says he has 'bought a substantial property in the Manchester area to accommodate young hopefuls from Norway while they are on trial at the club.'

Valerenga's 15 year-old forward Joshua King and Rosenborg's U21 international midfielder Per Skjelbred are also reported to be intesreting United.

* Paul Ince talks about his success so far in management:

"John Lyall (West Ham manager) was the main man for me, a father figure. He is always on my mind. If things happen, I say to myself, what would John Lyall do? That's how much I think of the bloke. Alex Ferguson gave me high principles and high standards. I worked with him for six years and those standards will stay with me now wherever I go. People who have become good managers, like Mark Hughes, Roy Keane and Steve Bruce, all played under him. It shows we have learned.

"I treat the players like my family. You have to recognise problems off the pitch, as well as on it. If there is a problem, whatever it may be, I want to know about it."

* Eriksson after normal service resumes at City:

"I have never lost a match 6-0. This is the first time. It is my worst defeat as a club manager. We talked about playing good football and we have talked about it too much.

"What is the point if you can't defend? We gave them far too much space and time. They killed us."

* Ex-Red Dion Dublin may be the latest Ferguson player to move into management with Norwich:

"If I was asked about doing the job I would have to consider it because a job like this might not come along again in the whole of my career."
