Former United player and European Cup winner George Best appears to be
improving in health after his liver transplant operation. Best, 56, has been
taken off a ventilator and has spoken his first words since the operation earlier
this week.
BEST MOVES WARD
A Cromwell Hospital spokesman said: "Mr Best remains stable and is moving
out of intensive care this morning to the liver ward. He is continuing to make
good progress.
"He is talking and smiling and has expressed his thanks to everyone for
sending all their get well messages and best wishes."
Consultant physician Professor Roger Williams said Best is improving and is
in "excellent form".
"We are taking it day by day, but he's doing incredibly well,"
Let's hope he is back to full health and at Old Trafford soon.
