BEN FOSTER WILL BE INVOLVED IN THE FA CUP FINAL

Ben Foster has been told that he will be part of the United squad that travels to Wembley on May 19th, although he will not play any part in the match itself. He met with goalkeeping coach Tony Coton after the semi final and was given the good news, "I spoke to Tony after the game and he said that he wanted me to go along as part of the squad. I'm not going to be involved, but he wants me to taste what it's like to be in a cup final.

"I will be suited and booted — I am getting a Cup Final suit and I'll be in the dressing-room. I'll try and get involved in some of the pictures at the end as much as I can."

After a season on loan at Watford where, despite a difficult period for the club which will undoubtedly see them relegated, he has earned consistent praise for his performances, Foster has been told that he will spend next season at Old Trafford.

"Sir Alex has told me that there will be no more loans," Foster said. "He said that I will probably be the England No 1 by the start of next season. I have just bought a house in Manchester and although it will be a wrench to leave Watford, United are probably the best side in Europe at the moment. I was there in the summer for a couple of months but other than that it will be like starting afresh."

Foster is determined to fight for a regular place at Old Trafford,
"All my career I have been second, third, fourth choice and I hate it. It's horrible. It's not what I am in football to be - a benchwarmer. I want to be out there playing to big crowds. Obviously it would be massively frustrating as the last two years I have been first choice week-in week-out. If I don't play it will be a case of grinding another season out, sitting on the bench and hoping to kick-on the season after. You can't expect to get picked (for England) if you are not playing week in week out."

Foster also revealed that he had voted for Ronaldo as his PFA Player of the Year,
"The way Ronaldo is playing is ridiculous. He is untouchable, he's unplayable. They have definitely got the best player in the world at the moment."
