BECKS SHOULD LEAVE

West Ham's Paolo Di Canio believes that David Beckham would be better off in Italy than in Manchester.

"Beckham is such a huge personality that in England he can't move without six bodyguards," Di Canio told the Italian press.

"In Italy that wouldn't happen. At Milan or in Turin he could perhaps live a more tranquil life."

Di Canio on Becks as a player and a man

"It's not easy to be skilful, rich and good looking, especially in England," added Di Canio.

"This is what comes to me when I think of Beckham.

"There are some who say he has no spurt, that he doesn't beat the man and that he isn't particularly bright.

"It makes me laugh because if these are the worst things that can be said of David Beckham, then he must be a great champion.

"But above all, the three elements are rubbish. He knows how to move and give the ball even when he has a man on him and so he has no need to dribble.

"With regard to intelligence you just have to see him on the pitch to understand that he is a complete player.

"He is someone who knows how to read the game and put himself at the service of his team.

"He scores goals, provides assists and is a true leader for the whole 90 minutes.

"For me he is the best player of his sort in the world.
