Sheffield United today confirmed they are conducting an internal investigation into claims that Claude Davis approached team-mate Ade Akinbiyi with a razor during a bust-up in training.
Sheffield United today confirmed they are conducting an internal investigation into claims that Claude Davis approached team-mate Ade Akinbiyi with a razor during a bust-up in training.
Akinbiyi admitted that the two had been involved in a dispute, believed to have stemmed from words exchanged after Davis was sent off against Everton last weekend. He refused to confirm or deny, however, reports that Davis had brandished a razor.
“There was a lot of argy-bargy, but that was about it,” Akinbiyi told the Daily Mail. “There was a row lasting about two minutes in the changing room, but I'm not saying if he did or didn't pull out a razor.”
A spokesman for the Blades admitted that the club would hold an investigation into the allegations, but declined to make any further comment on the matter.
