BARCA GET MENSTRUAL
After all the fuss caused by Beckham's arrival in Madrid yesterday Barcelona claim they are happy he didn't sign for them.
Barca vice-president Sandro Rosell said:
"Now that we don't have David Beckham, I'm glad he's with Madrid and not with any other team after what we have seen of him in the last few days of his advertising and his Asian tour.
"Madrid are welcome to the chaos and uproar he brings.
"He has gone to Madrid which is fine for Barca because it won't work for Beckham there.
"Why not? Because they have too many stars there already.
"Just take a look at the mess they have been in for the last few weeks - that's what Beckham has gone to."
"It is interesting that our deal with Man United was conditional on Joan Laporta winning the presidency, which he did, and then, mysteriously, we were not able to meet Beckham's representatives.
"If Manchester United were so keen to sell him as they seemed, they should have told Madrid, who were already negotiating with his agents.
"Isn't it funny how Madrid sign Carlos Queiroz as coach and then suddenly withdraw from the battle for Ronaldinho.
"I think that in the fullness of time the real story will come out."
