BALE A SUMMER ARRIVAL?

The Daily Mail says that Ferguson is sure Gareth Bale will end up at United. He just doesn't know when that'll be.

"We're working on one or two things but don't hold your breath.

"We've had mixed fortunes taking new people on board halfway through the season. I much prefer a newcomer to have the benefit of pre-season training."

Meanwhile Southampton manager George Burley won't let the left back leave until summer at the earliest.

"Gareth will certainly be here until the end of the season and hopefully a lot longer."

"We are talking to him and hopefully we can extend his contract, but he is certainly going to be a Southampton player until the end of the season," added Burley.

The Gruaniad reports that Ferguson will use Ciddy's home game against Southampton in the cup as another chance to watch the young left-back.
