Hughes is unhappy that Brady described Blackburn's offer of £2 million for Robbie Savage as derisory.
Hughes believes that his offer of £1.5 million plus extras is more than fair for the 30-year-old.
"The offer is over £2m if you read every detail of it. I think it's wrong to say that is derisory," said Hughes.
"Every deal is structured in different ways and we think it's fair for a player who is 30 years of age. In fact it's an increase on what they paid for him in the first place. Robbie is a good player with good experience. He has an impact on every team that he plays for or against. I've worked with him and I know he would bring something to the club, but it's not in our hands."
