After Arsenal won 4-0 at Middlesbrough, a familiar topic of
conversation was raised. Wenger’s assessment of the game
was:
“Was that a response to Manchester United? It is too early
to say. There has been less written about us because we have
not bought players, but what I saw today was very positive.”
He also couldn’t resist comment on Fergie’s red card on
Saturday:
"If you would give me the choice I would prefer to be sent
off and have Sol on the pitch. The fact Alex Ferguson
watches the game on television doesn't change anything - in
fact Manchester United played better in the second half.
"If you are not on the bench for 45 minutes it doesn't
change anything. You can still talk and give instructions. I
don't know really what he said - but we can all guess."
