This time it is Wenger’s number two Pat Rice who has taken
such little notice of Fergie’s mind games that he feels the
need to talk about them.
“Alex is always saying anything to try and upset people. He
tried it last year with Arsene and he got egg on his face,
"We don't take any notice of what other people say about us.
All we can do is try and look after our own house and get on
with what we want to do. The players just laugh. It doesn't
affect them one iota. The only thing that affects our
players is when our manager says something in private.
"We as a club and as a team don't hang our dirty washing out
for other people. If we've got something to say to somebody
we will bring them in, sit them down and talk to them."
Speaking to BBC Sport, he went on to say:
“I believed we would win the title in August. I believed
that we would win the European Cup, and that we would win
the Worthington Cup. It's not being cocky. It's having total
belief in the players within your squad. You may as well go
for everything and if you get one you've done well."
