After experiencing one of the most friendly aways I've ever been on, where the 2 sets of fans mixed well both before and after the game, once again the antics of the Portugese police come into question. As the United fans attempted to leave the stadium, the fans at the foot of the stairwells where greated with the gates being slammed in their face and 2 cannisters of tear gas being thrown into the stairwell.
This caused those at the front to rush back, many choking and unable to see, while the rest of the United fans continued to come down the stairs unaware of what was going on in front of them. United fans of all ages, women and children, left choking and unable to see. Once again, the Portugese police deciding to make a name for themselves and potentially causing a dangerous situation.
