Anthony Martial's agent has revealed the French forward wants to leave Manchester United in the January transfer window.
The former Monaco striker enjoyed an excellent 2019/20 season when he scored 23 goals in 48 games in all competitions, but he struggled last term, managing just four strikes in the Premier League.
That poor form has continued into to the current campaign, where he has just one goal in ten appearances. He has only started two Premier League games, with the summer arrivals of Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho limiting his opportunities.
Now his representative, Philippe Lamboley, executive director of USFA Management, has revealed they will look to secure a move away from Old Trafford in the upcoming transfer window.
He told Sky Sports: “Anthony wishes to leave the club in January. He just needs to play. He doesn’t want to stay in January and I will speak to the club soon.”
Martial has not featured in either of interim manager Ralf Rangnick's first two games in charge - those being the 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace and the 1-1 draw with Young Boys in the Champions League.
He is currently sidelined with a knee injury and will play no part in United's trip to Norwich on Saturday, when they will jump up to fifth if they avoid defeat at Carrow Road.
"Anthony trained with us on Saturday in the final session before the Crystal Palace game," Rangnick said recently. "Half an hour after training, the doctor and the medical department informed me he has some pain on his knee.
"We had a meeting together with the doctor, the medical department and Anthony and we agreed he should try to recover from that. It's not a fresh injury, it's symptoms he had in the past already.
"We need to make sure he is reducing the amount of pain in the next couple of days and, hopefully, have him back next week."
