MEN:
UEFA will decide next week whether to charge Cristiano Ronaldo over his 'one-fingered' gesture to Benfica fans at the Stadium of Light on Wednesday.
Ronaldo, a former Sporting Lisbon star, was loudly jeered throughout United's 2-1 defeat in midweek.
The 20-year-old allowed the frustration of a miserable evening, both individually and as a team, to get the better of him when he was substituted midway through the second half and TV pictures showed him making the obscene gesture as he walked towards the dug-out.
"This incident has been brought to our attention by the Portuguese media," said a UEFA spokesman.
"We will look at it next week and decide whether to take the matter further."
Ronaldo:
"If the people were kinder, I would have reacted in a different manner.
"But the supporters were nasty to me."
