ALL CHANGE AT THE TOP CLAIM THE MIRROR

From The Sunday Mirror:

Celtic want Roy Keane as their next manager when the Coolmore Mafia buy control of Manchester United and offer Martin O'Neill the Old Trafford hotseat.

Billionaire Irish businessman Dermot Desmond is bracing himself for a United approach for O'Neill once close associates John Magnier and JP McManus complete their takeover of United.

The racing duo have upped their shares in United to 10.37 per cent as they continue their stockpiling with a view to a majority stake within the next 12 months.

McManus and Magnier, now the biggest single shareholders through their Cubic Expression company, will then offer their good friend Sir Alex Ferguson a seat on the Old Trafford board - and possibly even the chairmanship of the biggest club in England - to allow them to move for O'Neill.

That will clear the way for Celtic chief Desmond to realise his long-time ambition and offer Keane a start in management at Parkhead.

Desmond, also a United shareholder, has long targeted Keane as the ideal candidate to replace treble winner O'Neill in the Glasgow hotseat.

The Mirror go on to quote a ‘top Dublin business source’:

"JP and John are only starting the process that will see them take control of United in the long term. And once they maximise their shareholding and take control of the club, the pieces will start to fit the jigsaw.

"They want to reward Sir Alex for his years of service to the club with a major boardroom position at United. And the only man they want to fill his boots is Martin O'Neill.

"They know it will only take a couple of million pounds to buy Martin out of his new one-year rolling contract at Celtic and that is chicken-feed compared to the money they are prepared to invest at Old Trafford.

"Once that cycle is in place you will see Dermot Desmond offer Roy Keane his first management role at Parkhead. There is nothing surer."
