The MEN:
Long-serving manager and economics graduate Steve Coppell has admitted the figures behind Malcolm Glazer's £790million takeover of Manchester United 'simply do not add up'.
"You look at the figures and they simply don't add up," said Coppell told the League Managers' Association website.
"The cost of the debt undertaken by the Glazer family has not been matched by the profits the club has made. There appears to be a huge deficit."
"These are very, very successful people from across the water," said Coppell, who hopes to celebrate his 21st season as a manager by steering Reading into the Premiership.
"They must have a plan to bridge the gap whilst continuing to invest in terms of players, who are only going to get more expensive.
"As yet, I don't think that plan is apparent to anyone outside of the Glazer family."
