Luis Nani looks certain to leave Old Trafford in January as talks over a new contract continue to stall. As well as inconsistent form and off the field antics the Portuguese's career at Manchester United looks soon to come to an abrupt end.
Despite having played over 200 times for United since joining in 2007 from Sporting Lisbon ? Nani has struggled to earn a regular sport in the side this season. His performance at Everton saw him dropped from the match day squad for the game against Fulham at the start of the season. Nani was rumoured to be involved in a bust-up with youth player Davide Petrucc.
Ferguson is now trying to implicate the 'diamond formation' into his United side ? which essentially cuts out wingers. With a more compact midfield too keep possession and shut down the opponent ? the winger may find first team opportunities even more difficult to come by.
It is believed that Juventus and AC Milan are both willing to pay ?12million to take the Portuguese off Manchester United's hands ? although Ferguson is holding out for at least the ?20million he paid for Nani five years ago.
Nani currently has two years remaining on his ?90,000 a week contract ? but wants in excess of ?130,000 ? as well as bonus'.
Manchester United have linked up Porto winger James Rodriguez as a possible replacement for Nani. Another player with the 'next Cristiano Ronaldo' name tag to live with.
