England went into the game with a 100% record to defend, but they struggled against stubborn opposition and had to settle for a goalless draw, much to the disapproval of the fans in Wembley stadium.
And Ferdinand told ITV Sport after the game: "We can take a few positives but we really should be winning games like that."
And should England have won? "I think so, they hit the bar late on but up until that we were on the front foot trying to create chances. Their goalkeeper made a couple of good saves."
He added: "We didn't quite manage to put the ball in the net. Maybe we tried too hard to please the manager and the fans but we didn't concede and were solid as a team from front to back."
