According to That's Life! magazine's Scruples and Lies survey 2002 many would not mind if their men went off sex, robbed a bank or became a "secret" transvestite.
Among the favourite lies for women are "you're fantastic in bed" and "these shoes only cost £10".
The survey showed 98% admitted they tell "little white lies", 35% tell them every day, while 78% also tell "big lies".
Top three excuses for getting out of making love are tiredness, feeling unwell and headache.
